The temple keeps two timetables, one for winter and one for summer. Doors open with the Mangala aarti and close after the Shayan aarti; on ordinary days there is a break in the early afternoon.
Aarti schedule
These times come from the aarti chart published by the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee.
| Aarti | Winter | Summer |
|---|---|---|
| Mangala aarti | 5:30 am | 4:30 am |
| Shringar aarti | 8:00 am | 7:00 am |
| Bhog aarti | 12:30 pm | 12:30 pm |
| Sandhya aarti | 6:30 pm | 7:30 pm |
| Shayan aarti | 9:00 pm | 10:00 pm |
Darshan hours
| Season | Morning | Evening |
|---|---|---|
| Winter | 5:30 am – 1:00 pm | 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm |
| Summer | 4:30 am – 12:30 pm | 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm |
The committee itself publishes only the aarti times. The hours above follow Rajasthan Tourism; several other guides give 5:00 pm as the winter reopening, so treat 4:30–5:00 pm as the window. The committee does not announce the dates on which the schedule switches – as a rule of thumb, winter timings run from about October to March.
On Shukla Ekadashi and during the melas darshan usually continues without the midday break and late into the night.
When the temple is closed
A few times a year general darshan stops for special seva-puja and the tilak of the deity. The usual pattern is from 10 pm one evening until 5 pm the next day – about nineteen hours. These closures are announced only a few days ahead in notices on the official website. If you are travelling a long way for a single day, look there before you book.
Do you need to register for darshan?
Sources disagree. The old online registration portal no longer works and the committee's website has no booking function, while some news sites still describe registration as compulsory. On ordinary days devotees simply join the queue. We will update this page when the committee publishes a clear rule.
Picking a good time
- Weekday mornings right after the Shringar aarti are the calmest.
- Saturdays, Sundays and the Ekadashi–Dwadashi pair are the busiest; see the festival calendar.
- From April to June the afternoon heat is severe – check the weather by month and plan darshan for early morning.
