What this temple is known for
In the walled Old City near Delhi Chakla, about 1.4 km from Ahmedabad railway station — the easiest of these temples to reach on foot from a train.
Worth knowing before you go
Ahmedabad has no single dominant Khatu Shyam temple. This one has about 790 reviews and the Bapunagar temple about 730, which is close enough that calling either the main one is a judgement rather than a fact. Some directories give this site's address as Dr Pitamber Road in Dariapur; the coordinates are the same spot, so it is one temple described by two adjoining localities.
Festivals here
This temple does not publish a calendar of its own. Shyam Baba is honoured on the same days everywhere: Phalgun Mela in spring, the janmotsav on Devuthani Ekadashi, and every Shukla Ekadashi. Crowds in Ahmedabad follow those dates.
The original temple
The shrine all of these follow is in Khatu in Sikar district, Rajasthan, where the head of Barbarika is said to have been found.
