What this temple is known for
The main Khatu Shyam shrine in Bhiwandi, rated 4.8 from about 700 reviews. There is parking on site and drinking water for visitors.
Worth knowing before you go
No trust, founder, founding year, website or telephone number is published anywhere we looked. Some listings place this temple on Indraprastha Road in Temghar or on Kalyan Road; those addresses do not match the coordinates. Do not confuse it with Shree Deep Jyoti Khatu Shyamji Dham in Kalyan West, about ten kilometres away.
Festivals here
This temple does not publish a calendar of its own. Shyam Baba is honoured on the same days everywhere: Phalgun Mela in spring, the janmotsav on Devuthani Ekadashi, and every Shukla Ekadashi. Crowds in Bhiwandi follow those dates.
The original temple
The shrine all of these follow is in Khatu in Sikar district, Rajasthan, where the head of Barbarika is said to have been found.
