Hours come from the temple's own site where it publishes them, and otherwise from its verified Google Maps listing. Temples change their timings for festivals and for the seasons without announcing it, so telephone ahead if the trip depends on it.

What this temple is known for

Stands inside a military-controlled multi-faith compound known locally as Sarva Dharma Sthal, alongside shrines to Ganesh, Shiva, Sai Baba, Hanuman, Ram and Sita, and Jagannath. Because the compound is on cantonment land, access can depend on the gate.

Worth knowing before you go

Pune is the weakest entry here and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. The city has no large, well-documented Khatu Shyam temple on the scale of Delhi, Surat or Lucknow. This shrine has around 320 reviews, a separate Google listing with 288 reviews may be the same place or a different one, and we could not resolve it. OpenStreetMap knows of no Khatu Shyam temple in Pune at all, so the coordinates rest on a single source. Shree Shyam Parivar Pune is a registered devotee trust, but it has no building of its own and holds its annual bhajan evening in a rented hall.

Festivals here

This temple does not publish a calendar of its own. Shyam Baba is honoured on the same days everywhere: Phalgun Mela in spring, the janmotsav on Devuthani Ekadashi, and every Shukla Ekadashi. Crowds in Pune follow those dates.

The original temple

The shrine all of these follow is in Khatu in Sikar district, Rajasthan, where the head of Barbarika is said to have been found.
