Hours come from the temple's own site where it publishes them, and otherwise from its verified Google Maps listing. Temples change their timings for festivals and for the seasons without announcing it, so telephone ahead if the trip depends on it.

What this temple is known for

The leading Khatu Shyam shrine in Vadodara, rated 4.8 from about 710 reviews. Visitors mention the heavily decorated murti and the crowd handling on busy days, and the stalls outside selling roses and peacock feathers — the two standard offerings to Shyam Baba. Ekadashi is the recurring draw.

Worth knowing before you go

Directories list this site under the ambiguous name Shree Shyam Mandir, which on its own would not prove it is a Barbarika shrine; the reviews describing the Khatu Shyam murti settle it. A separate Khatu Shyam temple at Khodiyar Nagar, about five kilometres away, is a different place.

Festivals here

This temple does not publish a calendar of its own. Shyam Baba is honoured on the same days everywhere: Phalgun Mela in spring, the janmotsav on Devuthani Ekadashi, and every Shukla Ekadashi. Crowds in Vadodara follow those dates.

The original temple

The shrine all of these follow is in Khatu in Sikar district, Rajasthan, where the head of Barbarika is said to have been found.
